VHSN Day observance held across Thoubal district

As part of the state government's 100 days action plan, District Health Society, Thoubal continued to organise Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) at various villages in the district on Wednesday.
In order to facilitate access to maternal health, child health, adolescent health, and nutrition services at the village level, the VHSND programmes are being organised.
One such programme held at Panchayati Ghar, Langathel, was attended Dr Y Nokul Singh, chief medical officer Thoubal, Ch Basanta Singh, district programme manag er, Md Riyas Sheikh, district community mobilizer.
Dr Y Nokul Singh spoke on the World No Tobacco Day, the effects of tobacco to human health and environment, and also interacted with participants on RMNCH-A+, while Md Riyas Sheikh thanked the ASHA and Anganwadi workers for successfully organising the programme.
He highlighted various programmes and schemes under National Health Mission and also explained to the public the benefits of AB-PMJAY and Chief Ministergi Hakchelgi Tengbang.
Meanwhile, Th Romen Singh, malaria technical supervisor, spoke on the prevention and control of vector borne diseases in the village.
Low cost sanitary pads, Iron Folic and Albendazole tablets were also distributed during the programme.
About 60 women and adolescent girls of the area attended the programme.
P Roshalin, community health officer of Health Wellness Centre, Langathel, thanked the CMO Thoubal and other district officials for their presence and interaction with the participants.
Similar programmes were also held at Thoudam Mamang Leikai, Khangabok Khullakpam Mamang Leikai, Yairipok Bamon Leikai Mathak Leikai, Chandrakhong, Ukhongsang Maning Leikai and Charangpat Maning.
It may be mentioned that similar VHSND programme will be held at 107 villages/leikais during the first 100 days.
