CCpur, October 23 2021:
Along with formally announcing his decision to contest in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Henglep assembly constituency, former MDC Nehminthang alias Thangboi, son of (late) Dengmang Haokip, has pledged to work for bringing real development in Henglep AC and taking the constituency to the path of overall progress.
The declaration was made during a public function held Friday at Henglep community hall in the presence of over 80 village chiefs, church leaders and large numbers of his supporters from different villages.
Speaking at the function also attended by former ADC ChurachandpUr vice chairman Paolal Haokip, Nehminthang stressed the need of establishment of higher secondary schools in Henglep and contended that as successive governments had neglected Henglep most of the roads in the constituency including the one linking sub-divisional headquarter remain in shabby condition.
He also lamented unreliability of the existing PHSC and cited lack of good roads as the prime factor for absence of basic infrastructure in the assembly segment.
The intending candidate also called upon the tribal communities to take advantage of the vast land they possess by taking up agricultural and horticultural activities on large scale through joining training programmes at regular intervals and consulting subject experts.
