JCILPS NH-37 branch opened

Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), Manipur opened its NH-37 branch at Nongchup Keithelmanbi along with electing new office bearers of the branch for the term 2022-24 during a public meeting held at Khumbong Bazar on April 3.In a release, JCILPS co-convener (publicity in-charge) Wareppam Second informed that the meeting was presided over by its convener Phulindro Konsam with various CSOs and meira paibi leaders in attendance.
The meeting discussed the impact of influx of non-locals in the state as well as various loopholes in the present ILP system.
It was also agreed upon to press the government for strengthening the ILP system that has been implemented in the state from January 1, 2020 at the earliest along with resolving the issue of Amra Bangali petition in the Supreme Court of India challenging the ILP system in Manipur, by the central and state government.
JCILPS further conveyed that the new office bearers of JCILPS NH-37 Branch are Wayenbam Nodha Singh (convener), Thokchom Monorama Devi (convener of women wing), Kolom Bhupendra Singh (co-convener/publicity), Khundrakpam Ibomcha Singh (co-convener/Orgn), Yurembam Khomba Singh (co-convener/finance), Konjengbam Guni Leima (co-convener/women representative) and Asem Manihar Singh (consultant) .
Twenty three other executive members have also been elected.
