MU signs MoU with IIM-Shillong

Manipur University and Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Shillong, Meghalaya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to help Start-up ecosystem in Manipur.
The MoU was signed between MU vice chancellor professor N Lokendra and IIM-Shillong director professor DP Goyal on the sidelines of a national seminar on the theme 'Startups and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in India' held on Monday at the court hall of Manipur University.
The national seminar was jointly organised by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University and IIM-Shillong.
According to professor Goyal, the national seminar will help Manipur as the state has abundant potential for entrepreneurship.
He also stated that IIM-Shillong has a major role to play in the development of the north-eastern region and environment of entrepreneurship is very enabling.
The development of the northeast is the goal of the institute's three centres, CeDNER, Kalam and incubation, the director proclaimed and informed that IIM-Shillong supports young people in the northeast in the creation and marketing of enterprises .
Expressing confidence that the MoU will bring certain positive changes in Manipur's landscape, he assured that the institute will help in developing and putting innovative ideas into action through guidance and handholding.
The seminar was also attended by Manipur University registrar professor W Chandbabu Singh, IIM- Shillong BOG member Atul Kulkarni and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University director professor Ch Ibohal Meitei.
