Imphal, May 23 2023:
The present crisis in the state cannot be simply termed as a communal clash but fallout of a well-orchestrated agenda of some groups with the objective to disintegrate Manipur, said Thanga MLA T Robindro while calling for concerted efforts to restore peace and normalcy.
Addressing a press meet at his residence on Tuesday, MLA Robindro said that necessary measures are being taken up to control the violence and as a result, normalcy is limping back in the state.
While stating that Manipur is known for its diverse commu-nities and culture, he lamented that the innocent civilians are falling right into the trap laid by people inimical to interest and unity of Manipur.
Expressing resentment and shock over the violence that unfolded since May 3, he said that the government is taking up initiatives for temporary settlement of the displaced people since they cannot stay in the relief camps forever.
At the same time, government ma-chineries are reaching out to different sections of the society to understand their sentiment in order to expedite the process for restoration of peace, he said.
Citing the Sangai Ethnic Park at Moirang Khunou as a prime example of unity in diversity of the state and its identity, the MLA appealed to people of all communities to play their part in restoring peace.
The MLA also informed that four pregnant women from different relief camps in Bishnupur district were shifted to the exclusive relief camp for pregnant women at Khuman Lampak and one of them had delivered a baby safely on Tuesday.
