RLJS to field at least 20 candidates: B Ruchida

Imphal, January 16 2022: Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti (RLJS), Manipur Unit will be fielding at least 20 candidates in the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, declared party's national secretary Brahmacharimayum Ruchida.

Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club here Sunday, Ruchida said that the party would be fielding candidates in both the hills and the valley.

However, the exact number of candidates to be fielded will be finalised by the party president.

Recounting that the state party unit was launched in June last, Ruchida said that she used to be a social worker before joining RLJS, with the hope of setting up different industries in the state and generating employment opportunities for the youth.

Recently, Union Food & Processing minister Pasupati Kumar Parash announced his support to setting up food processing industries in the state.

This will also provide opportunities to people who have returned after leaving their jobs outside the state, she said, while urging for people's cooperation in this regard.

During the press meet, appointment letters were distributed to select office bearers of the party.
