MPCC felicitates participants of Bharat Jodo Yatra

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) felicitated All India Mahila Congress Committee secretary Lhingkim Haokip Shingnaisui and NSUI Manipur state president Md Kabir Ahmed on their return after successful participation in the party's Bharat Jodo Yatra from the beginning till the end.
Both Lhingkim and Kabir returned from New Delhi on Monday and were accorded a rousing welcome by party workers at Imphal airport.
Later, both were encouraged and felicitated at Congress Bhawan, BT Road, here.
The felicitation function was attended by CLP leader O Ibobi, AICC steering committee member Gaikhangam, MPCC president K Meghachandra, deputy CLP leader K Ranjit, MLA Th Lokeshwar and MPCC leaders and workers: Stressing the need for collective understanding on why Congress leader Rahul Gandhi set out on a long foot march called Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Gaikhangam said that Rahul Gandhi saw BJP government's destruction of the country bit by bit just to wrest power.
With the firm commitment to save the nation and Manipur from the destructive agenda of BJP, Rahul Gandhi decided to launch the foot march from the southern tip of the country to the northern end covering nearly 4,000km, he said, adding that the march for nearly five months was historic and a huge success.
Gaikhangam further said that two participants from the state, who took part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra from the beginning till the end, could not be taken lightly and they would not have completed the march without dedication and commitment.
In his speech, K Meghachandra said that Bharat Jodo Yatra cowered 12 states and two Union Territories.
He also lauded successful participation in the march covering over 3,750 km by two state natives and appealed to them to work for the party forever.
