Awareness on electoral roll held in Thoubal

Thoubal, December 02 2022:
Awareness programme on Special Summary Revision 2023 was conducted on Friday in various parts of Thoubal district especially at colleges located in the district.
The programme was organised by Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) team in association with Electoral Literacy Club.
An awareness programme organised at Waikhom Mani Girl's College by SVEEP, Thoubal and Electoral Literacy Club of the college was attended by College principal professor Manoranjan Sharma as chief guest and assistant professor N Jotinkumar as president while assistant professor Santila Devi and DACYP NYK, Thoubal member K Lokendro Singh were the guests of honour.
As part of the programme, different forms issued by ECI were displayed and explained about their use to students of the college.
T-shirts were also distributed to the first time voters apart from conduct of a quiz competition.
A similar programme was also held at YK College at Wangjing.
The Special Summary Revision (SSR) campaign is being conducted to facilitate the registration of young voters in the age group 18-21 and enrol them in the electoral roll.
The SSR will also enable the deletion, transfer of voters from one place to another and correction of information available in the electoral roll.
