100-bedded Covid Hospital soon in Kakching

Kakching, June 19 2021:
A 100-bedded Covid Hospital will be constructed very soon at Kakching in view of prevalence of high number of Covid-19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic in the district and its surrounding areas The site of the proposed hospital near Community Health Centre (CHC) Kakching was inspected by a team comprising advisor (Health) to CM and Konthoujam MLA Dr Sapam Ranjan, Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar, principal secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Vumlunmang Vualnam along with officials concerned on Saturday.
They were also accompanied by deputy director (Health) Dr Pravin Arambam, state surveillance officer Dr Somorjit Ningombam, deputy commissioner (Kakching) D Gangmei, SP Victoria Yengkhom and chief medical officer Dr Thaodem Rajen.
After inspection of the site, a meeting was held at CMO Kakching office to discuss the upcoming Covid Hospital, situation of Covid-19 in Kakching district and requirements of CHC Kakching.
The team also inspected the unused X-ray machine at CHC Kakching and resolved to make necessary arrangements to ensure X-ray service in the CHC.
Speaking on the sidelines, Dr Sapam Ranjan informed that the Covid Hospital will be constructed soon using prefabricated materials.
Discussions were also held during the meeting with Kakching district officers and CHC Kakching officials on the needs of the CHC along with Covid-19 situation and vaccination programme in the district, he added.
MLA M Rameshwar thanked the CM for the Covid Hospital project in Kakching district and efforts of the DC Kakching, SP, CMO and their teams to contain the pandemic in the district.
He also assured the non-functioning X-ray machine will be repaired and made functional soon.
