All are under law: Dr Y Premananda

Associate professor Dr Y Premananda of Manipur University, law department has said that everyone living in the state must not forget that all are under the law and they should discard self-styled thoughts.
Speaking as chief guest of the first foundation anniversary of 'Eikhoigi Apunba Saktam Thangal Bazar' held on Sunday, Dr Y Premananda cautioned that Meetei or Meitei community will become minority in Manipur after some time considering its population and it would not be wrong to say that Meetei are tribal based on lifestyles of the community.
The most interesting thing about Manipur is that people of the land do not readily accept good words/suggestions and believe in self-styled thought while another peculiarity of the land is frequent arrest of those criticising wealthy people on social media.
In view of this, everyone in the land must not forget that all are under law, observed Dr Y Premananda.
According to associate professor, the state is witnessing unwanted incidents frequently due to existence of large number of people with self-styled thoughts and many people in trouble due to lack of knowledge about law.
Law can be utilised in two ways if one understands properly and the first one is to use it for protection while pursuing for truth and the second to give path for rectification to wrongdoers, he added.
Consumer Club president T Phulchand, who was guest of honour at the event, said that flouting buyers and sellers' norms in Manipur is a crime and authority concerned should look into the matter seriously.
He also said that efforts need to be made to solve difficulties faced by indigenous people living in Thangal bazar and doing business alone without collective mind would never succeed.
He also thanked 'Eikhoigi Apunba Saktam Thangal Bazar' general secretary H Badan for bringing but a report on this issue.
