Imphal, January 11 2022:
While noting that in connection with the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, every Mandal is organising opinion polls to find out the winnable BJP candidates, BJP intending candidate Toijam Debananda contended that though Keirao AC too held the same exercise on January 7 no information was conveyed thereby preventing him from participating in the same.
Speaking to media persons, he informed that through an enquiry made to the Mandal office it came to light that the office was shifted to the residence of incumbent MLA L Rameshwor, which is fraught with inconveniences.
As such, the intending candidate has urged for relocating the Mandal office to somewhere suitable, while further urging for withholding the results of the opinion poll.
Addressing the media at his residence on Tuesday, Debananda appealed to BJP leaders and others concerned to look into the matter and consider his request, while cautioning that failure to do so would heavily affect his and party's supporters tremendously, in addition to setting off an unwanted situation.
Debananda then alleged that the current Keirao AC MLA is involved in various corruption cases, apart from indulging in communal politics.
Rameshwor's statements accusing the central and state BJP governments of only doing lip service and alleging involvement of several ministers and MLAs in drug racket, indicates his clear disrespect of the ruling BJP government, Debananda maintained.
The intending candidate continued: "MLA Ramesh-wor along with 5 others were mentioned as accused in the chargesheet filed by CBI in connection with the purchase of furniture in MU, as was published in both electronic and print media on September 22, 2020.Furthermore, his thoughts about BJP had been exposed with his workers' action of spraying black paint on a poster displaying the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, BJP national and state presidents".
Thus, Debananda urged the CM, state BJP president and others concerned to look closely into the matter and take up appropriate action.
