Mental health wellness session held

The 44 Assam Rifles of 22 sector/IGAR (East) in collaboration Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal organised an awareness cum interactive session on importance of mental health wellness and building Interpersonal relationship on the fourth day of Assam Rifles' healers' conclave in Tamenglong, on Monday.
In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that JNIMS psychiatrist Dr Loitongbam Nelson attended the event as resource person and it was coordinated by 44 AR deputy commandant YB Singh, senior medical officer of the unit.
Dr Nelson virtually addressed the attendees at Tamenglong and highlighted various aspects related to mental health.
Pointing out that mental illness can lead to various disorders affecting sleep, eating habits, mood, anxiety, psychotic and personality of a person, he emphasised on taking care of both physical and mental health and get the most from life.
He also advised on practical ways to look after our mental health.
Continuing its "healers' conclave" efforts among the local populace, the Battalion also organised door to door vaccination campaign" at Panikheti and Naibed villages in collaboration with PHC T Waichong of Kangpokpi district health society.
Dr Arif was in-charge of vaccination drive which aimed at contributing in the fight to eradicate COVID.
The villagers were motivated to adhere to the guidelines of COVID 19 for restricting community spread of virus and were encouraged to undertake COVID vaccination.
