Govindas' exit testifies Cong's rot: Th Radheshyam

Heirok MLA Thokchom Radheshyam on Friday welcomed 2735 former workers of the Congress and other political parties to the BJP at a reception programme organised by BJP Heirok Mandal and BJYM Heirok Mandal at NESA ground, Nongpok Sekmai.
Speaking at the event, MLA Th Radheshyam alleged that former Heirok assembly constituency MLA Moirangthem Okendro is a power-hungry person who once made his own escort team to open fire at his vehicle to playact an ambush incident so as to get 'Z' category security cover.
He also likened Congress to a sinking ship and asserted that no one trusts the party anymore as could be comprehended from its former president and Bishnupur MLA Govindas Konthoujam leaving the party and resigning from MLA post to embrace the BJP ideology.
Radheshyam further claimed that during the tenure of M Okendro, not was Heirok AC in in ruins but he (Okendro) also employed various nefarious tactics to ensure that no one except him represents the AC.
He also accused Okendra of involvement in rampant corruption by withdrawing funds for construction of two schools without any construction work as well as under the pretext of construction of Heirok police station.
While expressing elation over the public enjoying a semblance of normalcy and gathering of the large crowd at the programme after reeling under hardships due to Covid-19 pandemic, the incumbent MLA, however, urged all to be cautious and adhere to SOPs until the disease is eliminated totally.
Radheshyam also called upon the public to continue supporting him stating that the constituency has many developmental works when he wants to dedicate to the people.
The programme was also attended by BJP Heirok Mandal president Th Chourjit, Manipur Pradesh secretary P Premananda Meitei, party functionaries and local elders.
