'Swarnim Vijay Mashdal' reaches 27 AR

Accompanied by 46 Assam Rifles commandant and members of bikers' club, 'Swarnim Vijay Mashaal' or Victory Flame was taken from Khuga to Head Quarters 27 Sector Assam Rifles in Churachandpur on October 19.According to a.release by 27 Sector AR, it organised a series of events from October 19 to Friday to pay tributes to martyrs of the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.On Friday, the Victory Flame was displayed for paying homage by the locals, troops and families of 27 Sector Assam Rifles.
To commemorate the grand victory of Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in the 1971 War, a cultural programme was also organised at Peace Ground, Churachandpur, it stated.
The release mentioned that the Victory Flame was brought from 27 Sector AR to Peace Ground, Churachandpur wherein BSF IG Raja Babu Singh, who attended as chief guest of the event, received the Victory Flame from 46 AR commandant who was accompanied by 27 Sector Assam Rifles commander brigadier Ashish Ranjan and placed it at the podium.
The cultural event included various performances from fusion band of 46 Assam Rifles, display of Thang-Ta by locals, sand art display of 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, cultural programme by children of Grace Orphanage and performance of Desh Raag by band of 46 Assam Rifles, it added.
The release further said that after the end of the event, the Victory Flame was moved back to Headquarters 27 Sectors Assam Rifles.
