Fishermen society opens office at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, July 12 2021:
An office of Bharathimana Fishermen Development Co-operative Limited for the states of Manipur and Nagaland has been opened at Kha Potsangbam Maning Leikai in Bishnupur district on Monday.
The office has been opened under the aegis of Bharathi-manaco and registered at Central Register of Cooperative Society of the Government of India.
Opening ceremony of the office was attended by Bharathimana Fishermen Development Co-operative Limited Manipur chief promoter Dr Ra-manando Khundrakpam and director Kh Bhupendro.
Key functionaries of the registered cooperative society namely Ng Deben, Th Ibomcha, A Shamungou, Th Indubala Devi and Rakesh Hojai from Nagaland and Naorem Tomba were also present at the event.
According to Ramanando, the society was formed by 50 fishermen from five valley districts of Manipur and five fishermen from Nagaland to bring socio-economic improvement of poor fishermen of the two neighbouring states.
The society will purchase fishes produced by fishermen and try to sell the same outside.
The society will open consumer stores at different villages in Manipur and Nagaland, he added.
