Need to groom youth for a better future: Th Satyabrata

While stating that the lack of a good leader could be detrimental to the society, Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata has stressed the need for proper grooming of the youth for the sake of a better future.
He made the statement during the closing function of a weeklong 21st Social Service Camp organised by the League of Callow Patriots (LCP), Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal on Friday.
Presided over by LCP president Athokpam Ranbir, the valedictory function was attended by speaker Th Satyabrata as chief guest and Wangkhei MLA Thangkam Arunkumar as guest of honour.
Satyabrata lauded the Leadership Development Programme' of LCP, and stressed the need for clubs and organisations to work towards guiding the youth in the positive direction for the sake of the future.
He then said that Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri is a historical pond located between Yaiskul and Wangkhei ACs and emphasised the need for developing the same, including maintaining the cleanliness of the pond by reinstalling a treatment plan and further beautifying the surrounding of the pond with installation of lights.
In his speech, Thangkam Arunkumar mentioned about the disappearance of local ponds and as such, called for concerted efforts to protecting Achouba Pukhri (Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri).
During the function, a book titled "Organic Manures for Sustainable Agriculture", co-authored by LCP advisors Prof M Sumarjit, Tabuiliu Abonmai and Ksh Manishwari was also released, followed by distribution of awards to the top there winners of a painting competition organised by LCP.
