Kangpokpi, July 31 2022:
The civil society organizations of Kangpokpi have alleged that the newly posted health staff at district hospital Kangpokpi are yet to report for duty even five days after the transfer and posting order issued by the Health Department.
Significantly the CSOs of Kangpokpi had dropped their proposed shutdown call over the lack of manpower at the hospital, after the Health Department on July 26 issued an order posting a few MHS doctors and other medical staff.
One doctor, two staff nurses, and two Grade-IV were posted at the hospital apart from assuring to fill up remaining posts after the Assembly session.
However, representatives of CSOs Kangpokpi while visiting the district hospital Kangpokpi found that none of the newly posted health staff have reported for duty till today.
Dismayed over the alleged negligence, KSO Sadar Hills president, Satminthang Kipgen said that despite the Government posting a few health staffat the hospital, newly appointed employees are still to report for duty.
He recalled that as per the Health Department orders, Dr Bernard Potsangbam (Medical Officer), Mayanglambam Alliza Chanu (staff nurse), Kamang Gangmei Azenlu (staff nurse), Hatneikim Lhouvum (Grade-IV), and Loitongbam Bimola Devi (Grade-IV) were trasnferred to the hospital at Kangpokpi.
Satminthang added that following the order trasnferring them to Kangpokpi hospital with the assurance that others would be posted there after the Assembly session the proposed agitation was called off.
"If the newly posted health staff fail to report and join duty, as per the order, within two days, we will consider the order meaningless, null and void and an attempt to deceive the people," said Satminthang.
The authority concerned must initiate steps for the newly posted health staff to report and join duty within two days, otherwise, "we will be compelled to resort to more intense agitations," he declared.
