Imphal, December 29 2016:
BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesman N Biren had questioned whether it was the Congress Government or the UNC or the NSCN-IM which has been working to disintegrate Manipur.
He was speaking at the opening function of a new office of BJP Heingang Mandal at Heingang Ahallup today.
Biren accused the State Government of attempting to build a new Manipur without Naga inhabited areas.
"I'm not hurling allegations against Congress party just because I have quit it.
But there is a need to expose the wrongdoings of the Congress Government.
I left Congress for I could not tolerate the party's divide and rule policy and the resultant possibility of disintegration of Manipur", Biren said.
Commenting on a news report published in a daily paper about declining popularity of BJP in the State, Biren said that any analysis on the popularity of BJP should be started from 1972 .
One general secretary of AICC signed an undertaking declaring that Congress would not raise any objection to Naga integration when former Chief Minister Rishang Keishing was Congress leader of the State, he alleged.
It was because of this undertaking that Congress party could not raise any objection when the issue of Naga integration surfaced.
Manipur can never be complete without Ukhrul or Senapati.
One must speak against the incumbent Government for it is only concerned with winning elections.
BJP is committed to a united Manipur, claimed the former Minister.
Naga people's objection to creation of Kangpokpi/Sadar Hills district is a direct result of Congress leaders' faulty policies, he alleged.
The State Government signed an agreement with Naga Students' Federation (NSF) in 1992 when Rishang Keishing was Deputy Chief Minister and Goswami was the Chief Secretary.
The agreement clearly laid out that Sadar Hills district would not be created without consent of NSF.
The existing crisis can be traced to this agreement, Biren continued.
He went on to ask whether transportation of goods along Imphal-Jiribam highway with the assistance of Central paramilitary forces can be interpreted as an example of BJP having nexus with NSCN-IM.
People should not fall prey to Congress party's false propaganda.
Biren further asked, "Was it an example of good governance when the people of Churachandpur still did not claim the mortal remains of the people killed in anti-ILPS Bills protest?" .
Employees would not be getting salaries regularly if there is no BJP Government in the State and a united Manipur can be built when there is a BJP Government, Biren asserted.
