Imphal, September 28 2019:
As invited by BJP Central leaders, Chief Minister N Biren left Imphal for Delhi this afternoon to hold a meeting and find a solution to the protracted power struggle besieging his Government.
However, N Biren maintained that he is going to Delhi for some works, not on the invitation of BJP Central leaders and that his trip has nothing to do with the demand for leadership change.
Works Minister Th Biswajit reached Delhi yesterday while BJP Manipur Pradesh president and Rajya Sabha MP K Bhabananda is already stationed at the National capital.
Meanwhile, rebel BJP MLAs who have been demanding change of leadership as well as BJP Manipur Pradesh core committee members reached Delhi yesterday for the crucial meeting.
It is said that BJP MLAs who are still here at Imphal are likely to fly to Delhi either tomorrow or day after tomorrow.
Some BJP Central leaders including party president Amit Shah would hold a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren, Th Biswajit and K Bhabananda tomorrow on the dissidence besieging the State's coalition Government.
If the talk does not go in favour of the rebel MLAs, they may adopt a different strategy, sources informed.
