Imphal, November 27 2012:
Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir and Congress worker Alam Azad have reportedly reached an agreement at the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam in the presence of fellow INC legislators.
This was conveyed to TSE by the Deputy Chief Minister himself.
Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir reportedly assaulted Alam Azad following a quarrel at Hapta Kangjeibung, the venue of Sangai Festival last evening.
Both Alam Azad and Abdul Nasir were called at the Deputy CM's office this afternoon and were asked to come to terms with each other.
Ministers M Okendro and I Hemochandra, Parliamentary Secretaries K Meghachandra, Prithviraj, Amin Shah, and MLA RK Anand and MK Preshow were also present during the meeting.
Whatever ill-feelings that existed between Abdul Naseer and Alam Azad before and after yesterday's incident have been removed.
They have not only come to an agreement but also shared tea together, Gaikhangam conveyed.
Alam, however, claimed that he has no idea on the agreement and insisted that he did not attend the said meeting.
"if the agreement was with the stall runner then I have nothing to do with it but it is a fact that I am not a party to the agreement," alam Azad maintained.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister O Ibobi who was on a foreign tour reached New Delhi and he is expected to arrive at Imphal on November 29 .
