RD & PR schemes to resume work

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Th Biswajit Singh has instructed officials of the department to resume implementations of all schemes in rural areas including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, said a press release issued by DIPR.
Addressing a meeting with Panchayat elected members and officials of the department at his office today, the Minister instructed to maintain proper guidelines and protocols issued by the Government while resuming work under MGNREGS.
He also instructed Adhyakshas to ensure adequate masks and hand-sanitizers are distributed and utilised by job-card holders during implementation of the scheme and also to maintain social distancing.
Dept officials were also instructed to check inappropriate encashment of daily wages and all MGNREGS passbooks to be handed over to the beneficiaries concerned, it said.
The Minister also issued strong instructions against payment of daily wages to job-card holders who are absent from work sites.
The department also opened a toll free number (1800-345-3872) for complaints or grievances regarding implementation of the scheme in the State.
The meeting was attended by Adhyakshas, Additional Chief Secretary MH Khan and other officials of the department.
