Markets reopen, public buses get green signal

Imphal, September 22 2021:
Whereas night curfew clamped in the State on account of the COVID-19 pandemic has been shortened from 8.30 pm to 4 am, the three Ima Keithels of Khwairamband and the temporary markets in Paona/Thangal Keithels have been allowed to open with effect from today under certain conditions.
Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar issued an order to this effect yesterday and the order would remain in force for thirty days from September 22 to October 21 .
As per the order, vendors of the three Ima Keithels have been grouped into three categories viz; white, grey and red.
Vendors belonging to white category may open on Mondays and Thursdays, grey on Tuesdays and Fridays and reds on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Apart from the Khwairamband Ima Keithels, other markets/Keithels may open at 50 per cent capacity and the concerned district administration should ensure that all wear mask and enough physical distance is maintained.
The Ima Keithels would remain closed on Sundays for cleaning by the IMC.
Restaurants and cafes are allowed to open from 10 am to 8 pm subject to ensuring Covid Appropriate Behaviour and also ensuring that the customers inside the eating area do not exceed 50 per cent of the restaurant/cafe's capacity.
Banks, insurance offices and postal offices may function normally without the shortened working hours stipulated earlier, mentioned the order.
It further informed that public transport buses are allowed to ply with passengers not exceeding 50 per cent of the actual capacity.
All passengers, drivers and helpers should wear mask and police and district administration should ensure that the capacity limit is complied with.
However, social gatherings and feasts are still not permitted, it added.
