Out of a total of 4.241 acres of land allotted to the Manipur State Transport by Nagaland Government at Dimapur, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has assured that portions of the land taken over by encroachers would be restored to the owner soon.
The MST land located at Dimapur Block No III is alloted patta number 63 and dag number 87 .
Though this land was originally allotted to MST, some portions of the same plot were allotted to private individuals in addition to a number of encroachers occupying the plot.
Taking serious note of this development, the Government of Manipur took up the matter with the Nagaland Government following which the same plot of land was re-allotted to MST.
Subsequent upon the re-allotment, Transport Director BK Sharma went to Dimapur and paid the due land revenue and water taxes up to the current year.
He also called upon the Dimapur DC and urged the latter to evict all encroachers.
The Transport Director informed that he was assured by the Dimapur DC that the encroachers would be served quit notice which would be followed by forced eviction in case they fail to move out within the specified period.
Already, the DC had assessed the number of encroachers occupying MST land at Dimapur.
Meanwhile, the State Government has decided to make the compound wall higher.
On the other hand, a building built over a plot of building having patta no 181 and dag no 182 near Hong Kong market, Dimapur which was 64 X 45 big was found occupied by one Sema Tolseli Khaija after one storey to the original structure.
As the matter was taken to court, the court passed its verdict in favour of the Government of Manipur.
The Transport Director also asked the Dimapur DC to evict the illegal occupant of the building.
The DC responded positively saying that the occupant would be asked to move out at the earliest, BK Sharma said.
