Strict vigil mounted : DGP

In view of the exodus of Rohingyas from Myanmar to neighbouring countries, Manipur Police have been keeping a strict vigil to prevent influx of Rohingyas into Manipur, informed DGP LM Khaute .
Additional police personnel including women personnel have been deployed at Jiribam and anti-immigration drive has been intensified .
Similar measures have been taken up at Moreh and top police officers have been strictly monitoring all the field works, said the DGP .
Meanwhile, Kakching Police have apprehended a suspected Myanmar National from Chairen.
The same individual was earlier arrested twice by Tengnoupal Police.
Even though the man is both deaf and mute, his identity could be verified with the help of experts, added the DGP.
