Inching towards three figure mark per day Manipur logs 94 new cases

Gradually inching towards the three figure mark, Manipur recorded 94 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours to take the number of active cases to 450 including one Central security personnel.
The new cases include one Central security personnel after months.
The 94 cases were detected while testing a total of 590 samples in the last 24 hours to take the daily positive rate in the State to 15.9 percent.
Nine out of the 16 districts in the State logged a daily TPR of five and above percent with Noney recording a daily test positivity rate of 50 percent with 3 out of 6 samples tested returning positive results.
Noney is at the bottom half on the vaccination table with only 34.83 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose of the vaccine.
Kangpokpi, which is the least vaccinated district with only 17.68 percent of the eligible folks fully vaccinated recorded a daily positivity rate of 33.3 percent as 3 out of 9 samples tested returned positive results.
Ukhrul with only 31.91 percent of the eligible folks getting fully vaccinated returned a daily positivity rate of 13 percent as 3 out of 23 samples tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The 94 new cases were detected while testing at RIMS (1), JNIMS (7) and other testing centres (86) .
The 93 civilians are from Imphal East (28), Imphal West (41), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (3), Kangpokpi (3), Churachandpur (2) and Noney (3) .
With this the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,37,873 including 5015 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 29 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours to take the number of recovered cases to 1,35,303 inclusive of 5007 Central security personnel.
The 29 persons were discharged from home isolation (16), RIMS (2), JNIMS (6), Shija hospital (4) and Chandel (1) .
The recovery rate is 98.14 percent.
At JNIMS out of the total 18 Covid beds, 3 are vacant while at RIMS 26 beds are vacant out of the total 47 Covid beds.
No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee in a statement.
A total of 10,555 vaccines were administered on July 15 to take the cumulative number of doses administered to 30,06,762 including 12,71,796 second dose and 1,32,196 precautionary dose.
Chandel tops the vaccination table with 70.15 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose while Imphal West is a close second with 68.33 percent.
Kangpokpi continues to be at the bottom of the chart with only 17.68 percent of the eligible population having the second shot while Kamjong is just above with just 31.10 percent.
Ukhrul is a close third with a mere 31.91 percent receiving the second jab.
