Imphal, February 16 2020:
The general secretary (political affairs) of Manipur Peoples' Party (MPP) Th Sarjukumar has alleged that some individuals with vested interest are trying to cause a constitutional crisis inside the party due to fear that their involvement in the party's financial crisis might come to light.
Speaking to media persons at Keishampat Wahengbam Leikai today, Sarjukumar clarified that MPP is plagued with financial crises and not a political issue.
He claimed that the party president Oinam Jugindro is not involved in the matter in any way as the root cause of all the confusion inside the MPP resulted from the party's financial management committee.
Following the formation of a committee to investigate the financial mismanagement of the party funds, some of the members with vested interest are trying to make the issue into a political crisis, he alleged.
MPP president in-charge S Brojen and members of the MPP working committee were also present during the meet.
