In what is suspected to be a violent fallout of factional rivalry between armed outfits, home secretary of the Kuki Liberation Organisation/Kuki Liberation Army (KLO/KLA) has been slain in an attack while his daughter and driver sustained injuries.
According to police report, the KLO/KLA home secretary namely Seikhohao alias Marvin (33) got killed after an ambush was laid by unidentified gunmen at Champhai village, located in between Sagolmang and Saikul, when he along with his wife, an infant daughter, nephew and driver, were heading towards Saikul village at around 3.30 pm today.
The attackers reportedly fired indiscriminately at his Verna (MN02/A7518) car killing Seikhohao on the spot while his two and half year old daughter Zukim was wounded on the abdomen area and currently undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.
Seikhohao's nephew (sister's son) Paominlien (5) also suffered injury with a bullet hitting him on the left shoulder.
He has been admitted to Kuki Christian Hospital, Deulahland.
While his wife miraculously escaped unhurt in the murderous assault the driver Aleng Khongsai (24) of Saikul is also said to be hit by a bullet on the right thigh.
