AR organises Medical Camp and Employment Fair

Imphal, February 09 2021:
Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a medical camp and employment fair at Chingarel Tejpur in Imphal East District on yesterday.
Major General Alok Naresh, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) inaugurated the event.
Sewing machines and spraying machines were distributed during the event as part of SADBHAVANA project for women and youth empowerment.
Medical items were also distributed to the populace to help them in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over 1500 people from Chingarel Tejpur and other nearby villages attended the mega event through the day.
The villagers were made aware about various precautions including hygiene and sanitation methods to be practiced to combat COVID-19 .
They were also briefed on the planned COVID immunization drive being organised in Manipur by the State Government.
A number of medical specialists rendered their expertise during the free medical checkup camp organized and free prescribed medicines were distributed to the people.
The medical camp was aimed to alleviate the problems of the local population having limited access to medical facilities due to remoteness of the location.
The Medical Camp initiative of Assam Rifles was supported by doctors from government and private hospitals likely RIMS, JNIMS, SHIJA, Raj Medicity etc who provided specialists medical advice and treatment in fields of like gynaecology, eye, orthopaedics and surgery.
The Employment Fair witnessed participation of various departments of State Government to include Fisheries, Horticulture, Veterinary and Social Welfare.
Information Kiosks of Manipur International University and private firms like TATA Motors, Bradford Aviation Academy, Handloom/ Handicraft Vendors, Hotel Yaiphabha and ICICI Bank were also established for spreading awareness about employment opportunities available in these sectors and private sector companies.
The aim was to provide maximum exposure to the local youth at a single platform.
A total of twelve information kiosks were established for the event.
Major General Alok Naresh, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) during his interaction with locals thanked them for their continuous support to Assam Rifles in all arenas which enables the force to execute their tasks efficiently while maintaining the motto of being the true Friend of North East People.
He highlighted that it is the endeavor of Assam Rifles to provide requisite assistance for ensuring overall socio-economic development and establishment of lasting peace and prosperity in Manipur.
