Covid-19 vaccination for 15-18 age group begins

Covid vaccination for beneficiaries in the age group 15-18 years began on Monday in the state.
The vaccination drive was carried out following the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25, 2021 .
BISHNUPUR
As conducted across the country, Covid vaccination of the age group 15-18 years for Bishnupur district was carried out at Kiyamba Ningsing Sanglen.
The launching function organised by District Family Welfare Office Bishnupur was attended by CMO Bishnupur, Dr L Raichandra; District Family Welfare Officer Bishnupur, Dr L Kuber; District Malaria Officer Bishnupur, Dr Th Nabakishwor and Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bishnupur, Dr N Bino as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr L Raichandra stated that about 61.16% have been vaccinated with first dose and 50.16% with second dose of Covid vaccine so far from the target of 196837 beneficiaries above the age of 18 years.
He also mentioned that five Vaccination Express and two teams of Doctors For You have also been engaged to vaccinate the people of the district.
Dr L Raichandra further appealed to the people to come forward for Covid vaccination and provide their assistance in the fight against the dreaded pandemic.
District Level Officers, MO in-charge of CHCs, PHCs, staff of District Family Welfare Office; District Programme Management Unit and District Hospital also attended the event.
KAKCHING
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 15-18 was conducted at CHC Kakching under the aegis of Chief Medical Officer, Thaodem Rajen.
Speaking on the occasion, Th Rajen stated that after a year of worry and anxiety, beneficiaries of the age group 15-18 years are now set to receive their first dose of vaccine shot.
He also appealed to the public to support the drive and come forward to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.
KANGPOKPI
COVID-19 vaccination drive for the age group 15-18 years also began on Monday at District Hospital Fixation site, Inspection Bungalow.
Kangpokpi Deputy Commissioner Somorjit Salam launched the vaccination drive in the presence of Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip, CMO Kangpokpi, Dr J Touthang, DIO, DLOs, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kangpokpi, Programme Management staff, health staff and beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Somorjit Salam called for increased public participation in the drive to achieve cent percent vaccine coverage.
"I appeal to you, not as the DC or District Magistrate but one among you, as your family member, please get vaccinated and extend your cooperation to the District Administration, Medical Department and other frontline workers to ensure that the district emerge as first in the state to veer away from Coronavirus", said the DC.
He also informed that the vaccination would be carried out at Inspection Bungalow for a week followed by other health centres of the district.
THOUBAL
Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash, IAS, also launched the Covid vaccination drive for the age group 15-18 years at Community Health Centre Yairipok.
The programme was organised by District Administration Thoubal and District Health Society Thoubal.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahanthem Subhash informed that the vaccination drive is also conducted in all the vaccination sites opened throughout the district.
The DC also appealed to all eligible persons to get themselves vaccinated at the earliest.
The programme was attended by CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul; and District Family Welfare Officer Thoubal, Dr Ksh Memcha Devi among others.
Later, vaccination certificates were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
