12 new cases

Imphal, August 31 2022:
The State added 12 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours while 4 individuals were discharged after completion of surveillance today.
The 12 new cases, all from the general population, were reported from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (5), Bishnupur (2) and Chandel (3).As the 12 cases were detected out of 439 samples tested at various testing centres, the daily positivity rate was reported at 2.7 percent.
With the addition of these cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,39,709 including 1,34,689 general population and 5020 CAPF personnel.
With the discharge of the 4 individuals today, the State currently has 67 active cases and the recovery rate is at 98.42 percent.
As the State reported zero COVID-19 related fatalities during the last 24 hours, the cumulative death toll stayed at 2147.The State administered 2764 doses of COVID-19 vaccines yesterday pushing the cumulative number of doses administered till yesterday to 31,79,363 first doses, 16,30,426 second doses and 2,44,362 precautionary doses.
Till yesterday, the State had vaccinated 62.32 percent of its eligible population with the first dose of the vaccines while 54.43 percent had received their second doses.
