Last rites performed with revolutionary salute

Last rites of deceased UNLF vice chairman and former MPA COAS Wangpa, addressed as Sir by the outfit, were performed at MPA Ghqs at 4 pm yesterday, informed a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity director M Sak-hen .
UNLF Central Committee general secretary and other secretaries, former Central Committee members, assistant secretaries of different departments, directors, staff, MPA COAS, VCAS, GSOs, staff officers, NCOs and combatants attended the last rites where revolutionary salute was also given to the late leader .
The mortal remains were wrapped with the party's flag and the party's flag was flown at half-mast.

The gathering also observed silence for two minutes after which the Central Committee’s condolence message was read out by the general secretary .
Led by the general secretary, the gathering offered floral tributes to the mortal remains of Wangpa .
MPA cadres offered reverse arms and gun salute to their late leader.
A condolence service was also held at the MPA's 291 Unit with the UNLF chairman where two minutes' silence was observed in honour of the departed soul .
The chairman also gave a brief account of the activities and exploits of Wangpa.
Similar condolence services were also held at all units of the party and MPA's 241 Bn, 293 Bn, Tactical Command and other units at 4 pm simultaneously .
The Central Committee further announced that the party's flag would be flown at half-mast for seven days at all units of UNLF and all battalions/units of MPA, it conveyed.
