Imphal, November 29 2016:
Following the fervent appeal from the Churches of Mao to the United Naga Council (UNC) to give free passage to the goods laden trucks, which have been stranded at Mao gate since midnight of October 31, the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) has today appealed to the UNC to lift the economic blockade for the sake of the people.
In a statement issued to the press, MBC appealed to the UNC to lift the economic blockade on humanitarian ground to ease the sufferings and hardships of the people.
MBC also appealed to the State Government to bring an amicable solution with all parties through dialogue to resolve the current impasse/situation facing the people and the State.
Batting for peace and harmony, the Church also urged all the ethnic groups/communities of Manipur not to communalise the present situation but to live together in peace and harmony.
The MBC also appealed to all the political parties not to politicise the current impasse/problem to suit their political ends.
All the Churches have also been appealed to pray for God's intervention to bring peace and normalcy in the State.
