Film Festival on Tangkhul culture

Imphal, August 29 2012:
Under the initiative of Independent Filmmakers, a short film festival on Tangkhul culture for School Children was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Mini-Secretariat of Ukhrul today.
The event attracted an overwhelming number of people, specially students from various schools of Ukhrul district.
The festival was inaugurated by Kpyo Kapai, ZEO Ukhrul as Chief Guest.

Apart from the 2010 National Award winning film 'Songs of Mashangva' directed by Oinam Doren, The Dying Giant of Ngathingkhui Jagoi and Rites of Rains (promotional screening) co-directed by Chaoba Thiyam and AS Pamreiso Shimray, who is also the correspondent of Hueiyen Lanpao, were shown in the festival much to the delight of young audiences.
Each of the three films deal with different aspects of Tangkhul culture.
