MEELAL urges

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has urged the concerned not to disturb the supplementary Meetei Mayek TET to be conducted tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters at their office, MEELAL president Moirangthem Naokhamba said that under then Education Minister Moirangthem Okendra's special arrangement, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) conducted Meetei Mayek TET in 2013 .
However, subjects like EVS, Maths and English were left out in the said examination although these were mandatory as per the guidelines laid down by National Council for Teachers' Education (NCTE), he said.
As such, a supplementary test had been scheduled after MEELAL executives discussed the matter with the Education Minister, Education (S) Director, Secretary (Educati on) and Joint Secretary (Education) on August 11, Naokhamba said.
Informing that 2,279 candidates would appear in tomorrow's supplementary test, he also urged the Government and Police Department to take up necessary measures for the smooth conduct of the examination.
He also lauded Education Minister Ratankumar for arranging the examination.
