State Govt to bid Governor farewell today

Imphal, August 28 2014:
After VK Duggal has called on President Pranab Mukherjee this afternoon, the State Government has started preparations for a farewell function in honour of outgoing Governor VK Duggal tomorrow afternoon.
According to information received from New Delhi, although the Governor's meeting with the President was said to be a courtesy call, it was reported that the Governor tendered his resignation letter during the meeting.
However, some other sources maintained that the Governor submitted his resignation letter this afternoon and the President accepted VK Duggal's resignation.
VK Duggal was appointed Governor of Manipur on December 23 last year.
He is in Delhi since the past one week and he would arrive here tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the State Government has made necessary preparations to bid farewell to the Governor VK Duggal at 4.30 pm tomorrow at the Raj Bhavan, informed an official source.
VK Duggal was the 10th Governor who resigned or were replaced at the NDA Government came to power.
Nagaland Governor PB Acharya would arrive here on August 30 to take additional charge of Manipur Governor.
The State Govt has received an intimation to this effect.
