'Recovered patients do not spread COVID-19'

Categorically stating that people who have recovered from COVID-19 or completed quarantine period do not spread the virus, Additional Director (Health) and the COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman has appealed to all the people not to stigmatise or discriminate individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 or have stayed in quarantine centres.
A press release issued by the spokesman said that 20 to 25 per cent of people who have been tested positive for COVID-19 or have stayed in quarantine centres might be facing social stigma.
People may also seek help through the helpline number 1800-345-3818 for COVID-19 related stress and trauma, it said.
On the other hand, 18 people tested positive for the contagion at JNIMS and another 7 at RIMS today taking the total tally to 1193.Of the 18 people tested positive today at JNIMS, 10 belong to Churachandpur, two to Imphal East and six to Senapati.
And of the 7 who tested positive at RIMS, five are from Ukhruld and two from Kamjong.
The total number of active cases as of Sunday is 737 while 455 people have recovered from the contagion so far.
23 people who have been undergoing treatment for COVID-19 were discharged from hospitals today as they have recovered.
Six of them were treated at UNACCO COVID Care Centre, 10 at RIMS and seven at JNIMS.
