Plebiscite call gets more vocal

With the call for the participation of the people in any process to resolve the Indo-Manipur conflict gaining ground, it has also automatically given more vocal power to the demand for plebiscite to resolve all outstanding issues.
A number of public meetings on plebiscite to sensitise the public was held today too and Bright Way Club and Nisha Bandh Nupi Marup jointly organised one such meeting today at the Lamdong Leikai Yaipha Thourang Lup.
Social worker Moirangthem Mani Meitei, president of the Lamdong Leikai Yaipha Thourang and Nisha Bandh Nupi Marup Pebam ongbi Mema and general secretary of Nupi Samaj Thokchom ongbi Ramani attended the meeting as presidium members.
Former president of All Manipur Students' Union, Lairenjam Gojendra and former president of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, Bijoy Kakchingtabam attended as the resource persons.
The two spoke at length on the role to be played by the general population while working out a formula to resolve the Indo-Manipur conflict.
A number of resolutions was taken after the meeting which was attended by a large number of village elders, youths and students.
The important resolutions include, plebiscite is the best and only option nto resolve the Indo-Manipur conflict, seek support from the international community including the United Nations so that pressure is mounted on Delhi to hold the plebiscite, the public of Manipur to participate in the process of resolving the decades old conflict and to hold the plebiscite fairly .
