Jiribam, November 22 2016:
The Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) has threatened to launch an economic blockade on Imphal-Jiribam highway with effect from November 25 midnight in case the State Government fails to declare Jiribam as a full fledged revenue district by November 25 .
A decision to this effect was adopted at a public meeting held at Jiribam Chandrapur under the aegis of the JDDC.
The meeting also resolved to launch more intensified forms of agitation including total blockade in case the State Government fails to give a positive response even after the economic blockade.
It further decided to ask all elected representatives of Jiribam to resign from their respective posts if the Government continues to ignore the collective aspirations of the people of Jiribam.
