Many social organisations and student bodies have announced their decision to support and take part in the peace rally being organised by Amnesty International demanding repela of AFSPA at Imphal tomorrow.
While announcing its decision to take part in the rally, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) also fervently appealed to all the student organisations and people to come forward and take part in the demonstration against AFSPA.
It should be the duty of every individual to extend support to the cause of removal of AFSPA and the proposed rally is the right occasion for solidarity to usher in a peaceful and harmonious Manipuri society, publicity and information secretary of AMSU N Amitkumar said in a statement.
United People's Front (UPF), Manipur pledged to extend all possible assistance to ensure the success of the rally while recalling numerous incidents of atrocities committed by security forces with impunity under AFSPA.
Urgent Action said it is time to come together as one to raise voice against prolonged imposition of AFSPA and appealed to all section of the society in Manipur to come forward for the rally against AFSPA tomorrow.
