Imphal, June 18 2015 :
Following the reports that the security forces are not harassing the villagers of the tribal hamlets like Paraolong, Kottal Khuntak, Moltuk and Challong in the immediate vicinity of the June 4 ambush against the Dogra Regiment the fleeing villagers have started returning home.
Official reports said that at least 30 villagers returned to their villages on Thursday.
They were brought to the remote mountain villages by the officials of the district administration and army.
They found that their houses and all belongings were there intact.
However domesticated dogs and cats seem to have perished and the remaining ones rescued by the People For Animals activists.
Officials are confident that the remaining villagers who are staying mostly in the district headquarters will return home shortly.
