Nitty gritty of BCIM car rally discussed ; Centres to wash vehicles zeroed in

Cars taking part in the BCIM car rally would be washed at the car-washing centres located behind Khuman Lampak Main Stadium after their arrival at Imphal through the much dilapidated Imphal-Jiribam highway.
The State Government's arrangements for the car rally were reviewed today at a high-level meeting presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi this afternoon.
The meeting was attended by Works Minister Dr Ratankumar, Education Minister M Okendro, Chief Secretary DS Poonia, Principal Secretaries of Art and Culture, DIPR and Tourism, Directors of Industries and Transport Departments, PWD Chief Engineer, Tamenglong DC, ADC Moreh and officials of Assam Rifles, BRO, 57 Mountain Division and Confederation of Indian Industries.
During the meeting, the Commerce and Industries Principal Secretary gave a power-point presentation about the arrangements being made by the State Government for the BCIM car rally.
BRO officials too gave a power-point presentation about the condition of Imphal-Jiribam highway.
Maintaining that the highway repairing work is going on, the BRO officials assured that there would noticeable improvement of the highway before the car rally enters the highway.
The car rally is scheduled to leave Jiribam for Imphal by 9.40 am of February 26 at the latest.
Participants of the rally would have their lunch at Nungba.
Fuel for vehicles which need re-fuelling have been arranged at Noney for the journey from Nungba to Imphal.
The car rally is expected to reach Imphal at around 7 pm of the same day.
After arrival at Imphal, all the cars would be re-fuelled at PCTC oil pump.
After re-fuelling all the cars would be washed at the car-wash points located behind Khuman Lampak Sports complex.
Participants of the rally would be accommodated at Classic Hotel and Nirmala Hotel and they would have a feast prepared with a variety of Manipuri traditional cuisines.
A cultural programme is also arranged for the participants at MFDC auditorium during their stay at Imphal in the evening of February 26 .
At 9 am of February 27, the participants would be briefed by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers and officials of CII and ONGC.
After this, the Chief Minister would flag off Imphal-Moreh leg of the car rally.
At Moreh, the participants would have their lunch at Moreh Trade centre before embarking on the Myanmar leg.
