Imphal, January 17 2016:
BJP Manipur in-charge and MP Prahlad Singh Patel has written
to Chief Minister O Ibobi to
stop construction of temporary
market shed on Thangal Bazar
road.
The letter sent today said
that the road is not wide
enough to accommodate a
street-market on their side.
If the proposed temporary
street-market is established, it
would block free movement
of vehicular traffic and free-
dom an privacy of people who reside on either side of Thangal Bazar road
would be put at risk, Prahlad Singh Patel said in his letter.
It would be an easy target for insurgents/militants to carry
out acts of sabotage like grenade attacks, IED explosion,
indiscriminate firing etc as it would be so crowded and the
damage from such untoward incidents would have a deep
impact and at the same time, the culprits would have enough
pockets to escape, the MP asserted.
He then urged the Chief Minister to shift the temporary
market somewhere else and terminate the ongoing construction
process.
