For consumers failing to submit KYC forms...LPG at non-domestic rate

Imphal, January 15 2013:
LPG connections for consumers who did not submit filled in KYC (Know Your Customer) forms would not be cancelled but they would be charged non-domestic rate when they avail LPG re-fill.
An IOC official informed The Sangai Express that consumers who did not submit KYC forms would be treated as having multiple connections.
A consumer may have multiple connections but he/she cannot enjoy undue advantage of the subsidy given by the Government on LPG re-fill.
According to a new decision of the IOC, LPG re-fill would be made available to consumers having multiple connections at non-domestic rate.

As per the revised rate, the price of one LPG re-fill of 14.2 Kgs in Manipur is Rs 424.50 if the consumers collect it from distributors, Rs 459.50 if it is delivered at home.
Price of non-domestic LPG re-fill of the same capacity which is not subsidised is Rs 1387.The price is Rs 1935 if the capacity of the cylinder is 19 Kgs.
As decided by the Government of India, LPG consumers of the State should be given LPG re-fill six times in a year.
However, as done in some other States, the Government of Manipur has approached IOC to provide LPG re-fill nine times in year.
For the additional three re-fills, the State Government offered to bear the subsidy amount.
In response, IOC has asked the State Government to approach Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas as the new arrangement was made by the Government of India, added the official.
