AMCO prays for peace

All Manipur Christian Organization (AMCO) held a 'prayer and fasting service' at Rongmei Baptist Churches Council Centre Church, Tarung, Imphal, today.
The prayer and fasting service was conducted in lieu of their regular Mother's Day celebration taking into account the current civil unrest in the State.
According to a statement issued by Rev Simon Raomei, president, AMCO, the service was attended by Priests, Pastors and Church leaders of all denominations.
The leaders present at the service reflected on the ongoing social unrest while drawing insights from various perspectives.
The congregation prayed for the loss of livelihood, casualties among the Meitei and Kuki communities, attack on religious institutions, schools, displaced people taking shelter in relief camps, freedom of worship for Meitei Christians and law and order situation among others.
The congregation also raised prayers for an amicable solution through peaceful dialogue with conflicting communities.
A brief report was then presented on the damage inflicted on Churches, worship centres, mission schools and other casualties on account of the ongoing conflict.
AMCO called on all leaders, irrespective of denominations, to stand together in prayer for peace and reconciliation.
