No body recovered on Day 14 of search

Imphal, July 13 2022:
The search and rescue operation being undertaken at the landslide hit Makhuam (Marangching) will continue for 2 (two) more days and a review meeting will be held on July 16 for further action.
No body was recovered during the search today.
The decision was taken at a review meeting held today wherein a memorandum submitted by Makhuam Village Authority regarding compensation for the local victims of the landslide was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Relief and Disaster Management; Chairman Hill Areas Committee; officials of the Administrative Department; DG Assam Rifles; Police officials; Officials from NF Railways and local leaders.
The memorandum submitted by the Makhuam Village Authority had put up several demands including 2 jobs each for the families of the local victims in Railways or State Government and providing free education till graduation for the 3 orphaned children of the deceased locals in the tragic landslide.
The Railways officials were directed to consider all the demands made by the Makhuam Village Authority and communicate a decision to DC Noney before the next review meeting set on July 16 .
Meanwhile, on the completion of 14th day of search and rescue operation today, no body was recovered by the team.
