Imphal, April 13 2022:
Even as children of generation alpha are known for their love for cutting edge gadgets like smart phones, computers and consoles, a 10 year old from Delhi has a different wish and plan to achieve a rare feat by taking a bicycle ride from INA Moirang to Delhi with his father.
The boy Master Arav Bhardwaj is preparing to take out a bicycle ride from INA Moirang War Memorial to Delhi, covering a total distance of 2600 kms with his father Dr Atul Bhardwaj in commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and 75th year of India's independence.
Speaking to media persons at Classic Hotel today, Master Arav Bhardwaj said that he will pay respect and homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by undertaking the marathon bicycle yatra from Moirang to Delhi.

He went on to say that he chose Moirang INA in particular as it is the place where India's tricolour flag was hoisted on April 14, 1944 .
When asked how he came to know about Moirang and the history associated with INA, Arav Bhardwaj claimed that he learnt about the INA's freedom struggle and Moirang from his grandfather Mittar Sain Bhardwaj who once posted there.
The young boy added that he had also gone through a few books about India's freedom struggle with the help of his grandfather.
Atul Bhardwaj stated that his son has great interest in the stories of India's freedom struggle.
Saying that most Indians think mostly about Kanyakumari or Kashmir as good tourist spots and often neglect the North East States, Atul Bhardwaj maintained that he is delighted to learn the cultural diversities of North East States.
He conveyed that he and his son would be accompanied by his father Mittar Sain Bhardwaj, wife Dr Wati and other relatives in a separate vehicle during the journey.
Atul Bhardwaj further informed that Master Arav Bhardwaj had travelled sans any elders on flight to-and-fro (Mumbai-Delhi ) and travelled to seven countries when he was just six years old.
He expressed hope that the bicycle yatra would inspire many children in the country.
Reportedly, Arav Bhardwaj and Atul Bhardwaj will be accompanied by members of many cycling clubs in the State upto a certain point during the tour.
