The two Ministers and six MLAs who have threatened to resign from their posts if the State Govt fails to lift the Disturbed Area Act from the State within August 15 have today clarified to the Central Govt that the threat was issued at their own will and without any pressure from any of the underground groups, disclosed a reliable source from the SPF Ministry.
Sources further said that Centre had asked for clarification on the matter from the leaders concerned after learning from intelligence reports that the eight leaders had issued their resignation threats after being pressured by a various militant outfits of the State.
Informing that all the MLAs who have threatened to resign have been summoned by the Congress High command at New Delhi, the source said that the MLAs have resolved not to obey the Congress high command orders till the AFSPA is lifted from the State.
Mention may be made here that two Ministers and the six MLAs had openly declared to resign from their respective posts following an assurance given by the CM on July 21 that a definite stand regarding the removal of AFPSPA from the State would be taken public before August 15.
