CCpur, June 10 2016 :
Two individuals disappeared in Khuga river yesterday and the bodies are yet to be recovered even as people along with various philanthropic organisations have launched a massive search along the river.
Laishom Tomba Singh (23) s/o Yaima of Zenhang Lamka reportedly disappeared in the river around 1.30 pm yesterday after he reportedly slipped on the muddy edge.
His sister Ronibala today said a woman fishing in the river saw Tomba falling into the river and screamed for help.
As she heard her, she rushed towards the river and could only see her brother's head as he was carried away by the current.
With the two women screaming for help people gathered and immediately started looking for Tomba but they were unsuccessful even at the time of filing this report.
The family requested anyone from the downstream who may have sighted the body to contact them on 9615776755 or 9615161686 .
Even as the search for Tomba was underway, report has come in that another man drowned in the same river near Ngurte village around 12 noon today.
Sources said T Kamchinkhup (25) and his sibling Muankhanlian headed for the river around 10 am to fish.
Moments after reaching the spot Khamchinkhup reportedly slipped and fell into the river.
Though his brother tried his best to save Kamchinkhup he failed due to the strong current.
He then headed home to break the news about the tragedy.
Immediately on hearing about the incident various organisations swung into action looking for his body but they too failed to trace the body till the time of filing this report.
The search for the two bodies is expected to continue throughout the night as well.
