DGP Shahid Ahmad lauds Home Guards

Lauding the contributions made by State's Home Guards in maintaining law and order in Manipur, Director General of Police (DGP) Shahid Ahmad on Sunday stated that Manipur Government has resolved to increase the basic salary of the Home Guards.
He was speaking at the 52nd Rising Parade of Manipur Home Guard at Home Guards Headquarter, Lamphelpat.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, DGP Shahid Ahmad mentioned that the Home Guards in Manipur are helping the security personnel of the State apart from fulfilling their other duties since 1963 .
He said they have made sacrifices despite receiving low salaries.
As per the Supreme Court ruling dated March 11 last, the Home Guards have been given a total of Rs 5000 per month after increasing Rs 1500 apart from implementing welfare schemes including uniforms, accommodations and transport, said the DGP.
While maintaining law and order in Manipur by the Government, Home Guards have contributed a lot, said DGP Shahid Ahmad.
