Fratricide accused sent to judicial custody

25-year-old Tensubam Babi, younger brother of Tensubam Prema-nanda, who was found murdered at T akhel Mamang Ching Khaloubi near Khaloubi road after he went missing from the night of December 20, has been sent to judicial custody till January 16 after he was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East today.
Four other persons pulled up by police in connection with the incident also appeared before the Court.
However, the Court released them on bail with a personnel bond of Rs 30,000 .
All the five persons were produced before the Court under FIR number 66 (12) 2015 of Larnlai police station under Section 302/34 IPC .
They were arrested by Lamlai police in connection with the murder of Tensubam Premananda.
The four persons who got bail have been identified as Yumkhaibam Anil (21) s/o Y Tombi, Pheiroijam Naba (36) s/o (L) Ph Chaoton, Loushangbam Abungo alias Romesh (31) s/o (L) Gulamchand and Keisham Ningthouren (27) s/ o K Ibomcha.
All of them are the residents of Takhel Mamang Leikai.
Defence counsel told the Court that they were not involved in the murder ease.
During their Court appearance, police told the Court that Tensubam Babi was arrested on December 28 and during the course of investigation Babi admitted that he murdered his own elder brother in the midnight of December 20 .
Babi revenged his elder brother for scolding and beating him up badly in front of his wife at their house, police said.
It may be mentioned that Premananda was found murdered at Takhel Mamang Ching Khaloubi near Khaloubi road some days back after he went missing from December 20 night.
He went out to watch a Shumang Leela at Takhel play ground the same night.
A missing report was filed by his family at Lamlai police station on December 21 .
